About The Position

We are seeking a detail-oriented Claims Specialist to join our team. This dual role position combines claims management with administrative support, requiring a professional who can effectively handle workers' compensation, general liability, auto and property damage claims while providing essential administrative assistance to our operations. The ideal candidate will be organized, communicative, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced construction services environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2-4 years of experience in claims processing, administration, or related field
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in the construction, utility, or related industry
  • Familiarity with workers' compensation claims processes
  • Knowledge of insurance claim procedures and terminology
  • Experience with claims management software or databases
  • Basic understanding of payroll processes

Responsibilities

  • Process and document workers' compensation claims and property damage claims from the start of the claim to the resolution.
  • Communicate with customers, contractors, insurance companies, and adjusters regarding claim status and requirements
  • Investigate incidents and gather necessary documentation, including photos, witness statements, and incident reports
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date claims records and databases
  • Track claim progress and follow up on outstanding items to ensure timely resolution
  • Prepare claim reports and summaries for management review
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements related to claims processing
  • Maintain organized filing systems for both physical and digital records, ensuring easy retrieval and compliance with retention policies
  • Handle general correspondence, emails, and phone inquiries in a professional and timely manner
  • Assist with payroll processing, including timesheet review, data entry, and payroll report preparation
  • Verify employee hours and address payroll discrepancies or questions
  • Create and maintain spreadsheets, databases, and tracking systems for various departmental needs
  • Provide general administrative support to management and team members
  • Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned to support operational efficiency
