Responsible for obtaining, researching and compiling information on claims filed for settlement. Ensures files are accurate and complete before sending to claims adjuster. Designated as point of contact to borrowers, clients and various vendors for claims that have been filed.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of claims processing required.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1-3 years of general office experience required.
  • Previous experience in a claims or insurance environment required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, Internet Explorer).
  • Typing speed of at least 45 words per minute.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to multitask effectively and prioritize workload.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
  • US Work Authorization required. Markel does not provide visa sponsorship for this position, now or in the future.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of Collateral Protection Insurance (CPI) preferred.
  • Experience with InsurTrak systems helpful.

Responsibilities

  • Respond promptly and professionally to telephone inquiries from clients and borrowers.
  • Request and track status updates from vendors (e.g., appraisers, skip-tracers).
  • Obtain missing information by contacting appropriate parties via phone, fax, or email.
  • Review and ensure claim files contain all required information and documentation before submission to the adjuster.
  • Assist borrowers, providers, and clients with questions or issues regarding claims or policies.
  • Accurately document files with all pertinent information.
  • Comply with applicable state laws, company policies, and departmental procedures.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned or required.
