The summer intern program will be held from June 2 - July 30, 2026, with expected 21 hours/week between Tuesday-Thursday. This is an in-office position in Baton Rouge, LA.

Responsibilities

  • Be an integral part of helping Louisiana thrive through efficient and consistent handling of injured workers claims.
  • Shadow experienced claims reps and specialists to investigate assigned claims through completion, while providing an unparalleled customer experience for all our stakeholders.
  • Participate in job shadowing and training to develop the knowledge and skills to handle insurance claims involving work-related accidents.
  • Enhance claims representative training program to include review of material and creation of innovative methods of information dissemination.
  • Gain valuable exposure into the lifecycle of a claim in a workers' compensation claims department, including: Intake of new claims Investigation of facts related to claims; interviews of policyholders, claimants, witnesses, physicians, etc. to complete investigation Review of police reports, medical treatment records, medical bills, and other insurance documents during the duration of the claim
