About The Position

The Claims Analyst works within the Risk Management Department responsible for the intake, investigation, and triage of general liability incidents, including customer injury, property damage, and automobile-related losses. The ideal candidate will have strong communication and investigative skills, the ability to work empathetically with third parties, and the judgment to recommend appropriate next steps, whether internal resolution or escalation to an insurance carrier or third-party administrator (TPA). This position works closely with internal and external stakeholders. This position reports into our Store Support Office in Phoenix, AZ.

Requirements

  • Ability to speak Spanish strongly preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree or commensurate work experience will be considered
  • Minimum of 0-1 years of experience in claims intake, risk management, insurance, customer complaint resolution, or a related field. Entry-level candidates with strong relevant experience will be considered.
  • Basic understanding of general liability concepts, including personal injury, property damage, and automobile property damage, or demonstrated ability to learn quickly
  • Strong investigative and interviewing skills with the ability to gather facts and assess next steps efficiently
  • Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and meet deadlines in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to demonstrate empathy & compassion with strong interpersonal skills and an ability to establish and maintain professional relationships with Sprouts Team Members at all levels, key external partners and third parties
  • High attention to detail with strong organizational and documentation skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint, and experience working within a RMIS platform (Origami)
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion
  • Ability to work independently while also contributing as part of a collaborative team

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and manage the intake of all general liability incidents, including customer injury, property damage, and automobile-related losses from stores, warehouses, and corporate/store locations
  • Conduct initial investigations by gathering incident details, obtaining statements from store leadership, witnesses, and third parties, and reviewing available documentation and video footage
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for claimants during the intake phase, providing timely communication, setting expectations, and responding to questions with professionalism and empathy
  • Analyze incident information to recommend next steps for review or escalation, including internal resolutions or referral to our TPA
  • Prepare clear, accurate, and timely incident documentation and submit first notice of loss to third-party administrators as required
  • Coordinate with internal partners including Store Operations, Category Managers, Food Safety, Safety, Legal, and Risk Management to gather facts, assess hazards, and support incident evaluation
  • Process incident closures and maintain accurate records within Risk Management Information System (RMIS), ensuring same-day or timely entry when required
  • Manage a high volume of incidents in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and service quality
  • Within defined authority, assist with minor incident resolution efforts, including customer goodwill gestures when appropriate
  • Partner with supervisor and/or leaders on complex, high-risk or ambiguous incident
  • Conduct regular follow-up to ensure timely handling and proper documentation of open incidents
  • Produce routine and ad hoc reports related
  • Perform any other duties assigned by management
