About The Position

AECOM Technical Services, Inc. is seeking a Civil Engineering II in Kansas City, MO. Job details: Generate conceptual layouts/designs and perform calculations and analyses for wastewater treatment plant and lagoon systems Develop wastewater treatment process models in BioWin Design site details of coal combustion residuals (CCR) impoundment closures and prepare construction specifications Prepare long-term construction plan in Microsoft Projects Observe and document site conditions and constructions with photologs and daily field reports Complete Hydrologic and Hydraulic (H&H) calculations for drainage and culvert designs, develop HydroCAD/HEC-RAS models, and draft H&H reports Perform one-dimensional analysis for various stream scenarios, develop hydrologic models, and produce floodplain maps in Esri GIS software and HEC-RAS Conduct site inspections of wastewater pump stations and develop condition assessment reports Perform pump hydraulic calculations and develop pump station models in AFT Fathom to evaluate pump station expansion and rehabilitation alternatives and forcemain alternatives Communicate with manufacturers to determine pump selections Work with the project Professional Engineer to establish cost estimates and draft facility plans Design stormwater treatment systems and develop stormwater models in StormCAD to evaluate pipe and inlet alternatives Develop Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPP) Perform population/flow projections and generate future developing maps in Esri GIS Software Work with the project manager to develop proposals, scopes, project work plans, budgets, schedules, and safe work plans Prepare submittal packages for obtaining permits required from regulatory agencies May telecommute

Requirements

  • Candidates must have a Master’s degree in Environmental Engineering or related field and 2 years of experience in the job offered, research related occupation, or related occupation.
  • Position requires experience in the following: Design of wastewater treatment systems and advanced experience using BioWin
  • Stormwater management
  • Hydraulic and hydrologic calculations and modeling with HydroCAD, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, or similar programs
  • Esri GIS Software (ArcGIS Pro or ArcMap)
  • Pump hydraulic calculations and design of pump station layouts
  • Solid waste management and CCR impoundment closures
  • Fieldwork experience
