Job Title: Civil Engineer Job Summary: Work encompasses all aspects of project management and engineering of residential, commercial, municipal and institutional projects.

Requirements

• Engineer or project manager with 4 years or more of experience in civil engineering development projects or equivalent experience.
• Strong written and verbal skills are required.
• Experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, Project, and Outlook are required.
• Position requires contact with clients and regulatory agencies.
• Must have an excellent driving record and have a valid Florida driver’s license as driving is an essential part of the position.

Nice To Haves

• Community Development District (CDD) experience is desired.

Responsibilities

• Representing Johnson Engineering as district engineer for Community Development Districts (CDDs).
• Ability to understand construction plans, permits, and plats to determine CDDs responsibilities.
• Comfortable attending and speaking at public CDD board meetings.
• Ability to write technical reports, scopes of work, letters, project summaries, and emails.
• Assemble bid packages and request for proposals (RFPs).
• Project management assistance on various types of land development projects including client coordination, contract negotiation, developing and maintaining project schedules, construction administration and maintaining project budgets.
• Overseeing CAD designers and project coordination with other departments, professions, and agencies.
• Coordinating permit technicians and administration in completing permit applications and moving permit application process forward.
• Construction observations, preparing field observation reports of construction activity, and witnessing critical tasks during construction.
