The CityTeam @ Work Program Manager is part of a growing department focused on helping students with their education and career development. The Program Manager must have high expectations and believe all students can learn and achieve economic vitality and housing stability. In addition to providing leadership for the CityTeam @ Work staff, interns, and volunteers, the Program Manager will provide administrative oversight for multiple aspects of the department, including education, job placement and record keeping. The Program Manager will collaborate with Case Managers and Program Staff to ensure all relevant communication, updates, and action items are documented and up to date. You will help students meet their education, career, and housing goals through the development and ongoing support of individualized education and career development plans. The CityTeam @ Work Program Manager is also responsible for managing the Learning Center classroom. The CityTeam @ Work Program Manager will need to be adept at communicating with people from a variety of backgrounds and comfortable working with those who are impoverished, struggling with substance abuse, and re-entry. No two days are ever the same, so we are looking for someone who can pivot quickly and handle conflict in a Christ-like manner. Our ideal candidate will take initiative, be flexible in the unknown, and do whatever it takes to help the team. The CityTeam @ Work Program Manager is a full-time exempt position. Requirements

  • Career Development, Career Coaching, or Career Counseling experience
  • Associate Degree or equivalent experience in related field
  • Minimum 3-years of professional work experience
  • Proficiency conducting online research, preparing presentations, and speaking to large or small groups
  • Computer literate and proficient with all aspects of Google G-Suite apps and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience with curriculum development and the ability to maximize resources by individualizing content for each student’s needs
  • Outstanding command of the English language, especially writing professional documents and business correspondence
  • Valid CA Driver’s License with a clean record

  • Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS)

Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day operations of CityTeam @ Work, including management of staff, interns and volunteers and processes, and workflows. These include but are not limited to coordination of intakes and assessments, volunteerism, and program activities such as career fairs, career development activities, job search services, and creating education & career development plans.
  • Manage the Learning Center classroom. This includes the processes and tools deployed to support the students.
  • With regards to the Learning Center, model and hold students accountable for appropriate classroom behavior, including arriving on time, coming prepared, participating in class discussions, staying on task, and respecting and supporting others’ learning.
  • Initiate housing planning and support students in attaining housing throughout the program.
  • Become proficient in utilizing Apricot for creating student records, tracking program metrics, updating student pipelines, managing assigned projects, and running standard and ad hoc reports.
  • Review information from case managers in Apricot and provide support for program staff, including case managers and program managers.
  • Recruit, train, and manage staff, interns, and volunteers. This includes overseeing scheduling, approving timesheets, coaching, spiritual mentoring, and assisting the Director of CityTeam @ Work with performance management.
  • Oversee the CityTeam @ Work Interns. Work in conjunction with the corporate Intern Program Supervisor to create and structure placements that benefit the interns, providing appropriate skills and trainings, help manage work schedules, case management, and classes; lead weekly meetings, ensure internship requirements are met, and notify the Intern Program Supervisor and Director of CityTeam @ Work of concerns or necessary terminations in a timely manner.
  • Ensure all students understand the wide variety of vocational skills training and resources available through CityTeam @ Work.
  • Transport and accompany students to career fairs, union apprenticeship application sessions, job interviews, and other academic and or employment related activities.
  • Oversee process of preparing students to take the high school equivalency exam and assist students with college readiness, applications, financial aid, etc.
  • Collaborate with Residential Programs to coordinate appropriate services and transfer flow for all students in the program.
  • Maintain an environment that is conducive to building trust and unity as well as high motivation and achievement.
  • Represent CityTeam at community meetings and network with outside social services agencies, churches, companies, and non-profits to build mutually beneficial relationships and maximize available resources.
  • Efficiently use Google Drive and other Google G-Suite apps for daily use and to create, track, and report data.
  • Manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and intelligently delegate.
  • Advocate on behalf of CityTeam in your circles of influence.
  • Special projects and additional tasks as assigned by the Director of CityTeam @ Work.
