About The Position

SUMMARY: Responsible for organizing, coordinating, supervising, motivating and evaluating the CIS of Southeast Harris and Brazoria County school based crisis intervention services.

Requirements

  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, education or related field. Master's degree in Social Work, Sociology or Public Administration preferred, and/or 5 years of experience working with social service programs.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret policies and procedures.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to function in a diverse job situation.
  • Interact consistently in a positive manner with a diverse group of individuals of the school, city, and state entities as well as brand subsidiaries and the state office of CIS.
  • Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as budgets, payroll, and daily operations of the program.
  • Ability to define problems, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Traveling locally, state-wide and maybe nationally required.
  • Must furnish current proof of insurance.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise Crisis Intervention Specialists:
  • Provides leadership, guidance, and supervision of campus/district crisis specialists and ancillary staff and maintain complete oversight of program implementation.
  • Identify training needs and coordinate professional development to include facilitating or securing relevant training to meet grant requirements.
  • Lead, coach, mentor, and evaluate specialists in a strengths based manner that will enable program to continue to exceed objectives.
  • Ensure staff are utilizing the ongoing trainings that are provided by their host district and that staff receive host district training on their own policies and procedures.
  • Utilize team skills and knowledge and encourage peer led training to take place at monthly team meetings.
  • Review/approve: timesheets, leave requests, monthly submissions, quarterly and end of year reports and be able to identify strengths and areas of development based on reports and submissions.
  • Routinely meet with campus/district stakeholders and be able to provide quantitative and qualitative metrics to ensure ongoing support and collaboration.
  • Prepare, review, and approve requests for expenditures prior to Chief Operating Officer’s approval.
  • Monitor individual staff’s health and wellness and insure they are aware and able to access the employee assistance program as needed.
  • Establish, model, and communicate a positive, service oriented climate that meets the needs of all customers within CIS, the District, and the Community
  • Relate, motivate, and encourage staff to achieve both individually and collectively.
  • Ensure required working collaboration agreements are completed and fully operational in a timely manner in accordance with the academic year.
  • Communicate with CIS of Southeast Harris and Brazoria County administrative team and campus/district staff to identify program needs, strengths, and deficits.
  • Coordinate regular monthly staff meetings with other program directors and conduct monthly team meetings to provide for program coordination and communication.
  • Manage Human and Material Resources for School Based Services Staff:
  • Conduct objective bi-annual performance evaluations for crisis specialists and ancillary staff that encourages growth, learning and constant program innovation.
  • Administer developmental and incentivized actions as needed and in communication with the Chief Operating Officer and/or Chief Executive Officer.
  • Ensure Compliance with Grant(s) Guidelines Through Internal Monitoring
  • Establish and implement systems that utilize internal monitoring feedback to insure we are meeting or exceeding stakeholder expectations and grant requirements.
  • Continuously monitor and evaluate campus services and activities to insure we meet or exceed stakeholder expectations and grant compliance.
  • Provide support to staff of performance strengths and developmental areas.
  • Attend Professional Development As Needed
  • Maintain a training matrix of relevant activities and events that provides the latest and most effective evidence based methods of engaging youth and families.
  • Obtain competent trainers that support growth, development, and learning.
  • Attend state trainings and conferences as required and notify the Chief Operating Officer and/or Chief Executive Officer of any scheduling conflicts.
  • Perform other duties as may be necessary for the successful operation of CIS.
