Church Nursery Caregiver
About The Position
We are seeking caring, reliable individuals to help provide a safe, welcoming, and nurturing environment for young children in a church nursery setting. Nursery caregivers support families by caring for infants and toddlers during Sunday morning services. Shifts take place on Sundays between 8:00 AM and 12:00 PM, typically lasting 2–3 hours. Caregivers may serve at churches located in the Mound, Wayzata, and Orono areas. Please note that during this time of COVID-19, Jovie expects all employees to follow CDC guidelines and ensure best hygiene practices when working and in their personal time. Our clients are following these recommended guidelines cautiously and conservatively and expect the caregiver to do the same to keep everyone as safe and healthy as possible.
Requirements
- Experience caring for infants or young children preferred (babysitting, childcare, teaching, etc.)
- Warm, patient, and attentive demeanor
- Reliable and punctual for scheduled Sunday shifts
- Ability to interact positively with children and families
Responsibilities
- Supervise and care for infants and young children in the church nursery
- Engage children through age-appropriate play, reading, and activities
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized nursery environment
- Comfort children as needed and communicate respectfully with parents/guardians
- Follow nursery safety procedures and check-in/check-out protocols
- Work collaboratively with other nursery staff or volunteers
