Work Shift: Day (United States of America) Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40 Salary Range: $16.50 - $26.50 Union Position: No Department Details Summary Assess the developmental level of children during their evaluation and provides emotional support and supervision accordingly. Job Description Provides support to children ranging from infancy to adolescence development and who may be in crisis. Addresses the comfort needs of children and families in a non-judgmental manner while facilitating positive coping through structured interactions with children. Supports the operational needs of the department while promoting a safe and child friendly environment. Possesses knowledge of basic child development and family systems. Demonstrates knowledge of the developmental effects of stress and trauma on children and interventions to alleviate distress. Displays knowledge of the special needs of children with chronic or disabling conditions.

Requirements

  • Two years of college or associate degree with child development courses and/or experience required.
  • Two-year degree in some type of child development and/or family studies courses.
  • At least six months related experience is required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and training will be offered to staff.
