Summary: The Military and Family Life Counseling (MFLC) Program was established to expand access to confidential, face-to-face counseling and reduce the barriers and stigma often associated with seeking counseling support. In 2007, the Child and Youth Behavioral (CYB) counselor position was added to the MFLC Program to provide additional nonmedical counseling opportunities to the military service members’ families by supporting their dependents within schools, child and youth development centers (CDCs), and child-oriented programs they attend (e.g., summer camps). The Child and youth behavioral (CYB) counselors provide support to military children for a variety of issues. CYB counseling services may be needed at installations, Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA) schools, summer schools, camps and summer programs DoD-wide. The Child Development Center (CDC) embedded counselor positions have the primary responsibility of providing the full breadth of Child and Youth Behavioral (CYB) counseling services to children of all ages of military service members and their families at Child Development Centers. We are currently seeking qualified CHILD Counselor (CYB) to support the Military and Family Life Counseling (MFLC) program at Fort Wainwright in Fairbanks, Alaska. Salary and leveling commensurate with experience.
