About The Position

CHILD PSYCHIATRIC REHAB PROGRAM CHILD REHAB COUNSELOR ABERDEEN, MARYLAND www.keypoint.org DETAILS: Job Type: Full-Time Pay: $21.00 per hour Shift: 40 Hours (must be available to work evenings) Potential schedule - flexible (hours may vary): Mon-Fri: 11:00am-7:30pm Who We Are: Key Point Health Services is a leading nonprofit agency serving people with behavioral healthcare needs in the Greater Baltimore area. We provide comprehensive community-based services that help people thrive while achieving their individualized goals. We provide opportunities, support and integration within our community. Among the programs and services, we provide are therapy and psychiatry in our Outpatient Mental Health Centers, Adult and Child Psychiatric Rehabilitation, School-Based Therapy, Community Outreach, and Residential Services. Who We Need: We are currently seeking a Full Time Rehab Counselor to work in Aberdeen, MD. Someone who has the availability to meet with kids at their home or other community location and pick up kids for group, conduct group activities and take kids home from group afterwards. What We Need: Someone who has knowledge of relevant symptoms of the most common diagnosis of children in the PRP (Disruptive Mood, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, Generalized Anxiety Disorder, etc.) Someone who is creative and can write and implement Individual Rehabilitation Plans. Someone who possesses effective writing, interpersonal and oral communication skills while able to maintain patient confidentially. Someone who has experience working with children and teens with a mental health diagnosis.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or 30 hours of college credit preferred from an accredited college or university in the human services field (social work, psychology, psychiatric rehabilitation, sociology, counseling)
  • Or HS Diploma/GED with at least one year of experience providing direct services to children with a mental health diagnosis.
  • Valid and active Maryland driver's license (or state of residence)
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check, MVA check, finger printing, and pre-employment screenings.

  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abili es: • The Clinic Coordinator will be licensed to provide clinical supervision, work at an independent level, and have appropriate supervisory and managerial experience.
  • They must have experience in working with and the ability to relate to the popula on to which they are creden aled to work, such as children, adolescents, adults, and/or geriatrics.
  • The Clinic Coordinator will possess knowledge of psychiatric diagnoses, as defined by the American Psychiatric Associa on, assessment, human development, individual therapy, group therapy, and family therapy.
  • They will demonstrate competency in evalua on and diagnosis, psychosocial assessments, treatment planning, discharge planning, crisis interven on, advocacy skills, and case management skills.
  • The Clinic Coordinator demonstrates the ability to func on on an interdisciplinary treatment team through excellent wri en, interpersonal, and oral communica on skills.
  • They will demonstrate an understanding and sensi vity to serving a culturally diverse and/or special needs popula on while respec ng client confiden ality.
  • Educa on and Experience: • Masters degree or higher in counseling, social work, psychology, or a related field • Independently licensed LCPC or LCSW-C in the state of Maryland with no restric ons • Board approved clinical supervisor (or the ability to become board approved) • At least two years of experience working in community mental health and OMHCs • At least one year of supervisory experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Implement on-site and off-site rehabilitation activities.
  • Conduct in-take meetings for children accepted to the PRP.
  • Develop and/or implement the Individual Rehabilitation Plans.
  • Complete assigned in-home or community-based visits, providing individualized, creative assistance and support designed to help children achieve their identified goals.
  • Provide and/or coordinate transportation to individual and group PRP activities in agency provided vehicles including 15 passenger vans.
  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of all documentation.
  • Maintain relationships with other professionals to coordinate services for assigned caseload.
