You will be The Chief Underwriting Officer of North America P&C Insurance. In this capacity, you will provide strategic leadership to the underwriting and program management teams across the SiriusPoint North America Insurance business. With direction from the Head of North America Insurance, they will be responsible for identifying opportunities to expand our product offerings, owning the execution of our underwriting appetite, acting as the steward of technical authority for property and casualty products, anticipating and reacting to market trends to drive profitability across the portfolio, and acting as liaison to the CUO office on strategic capital allocation. You will report directly to the Head of North America P&C Insurance, with a dotted line into the Group Chief Underwriting Officer. A key aspect of this role is to embed deeper underwriting acumen within the North America Insurance business division to strengthen strategic portfolio management and technical / product oversight of delegated underwriting relationships. The business has been through a growth and build phase supported by shared technical expertise for the past two years, and we are now at a level of scale that necessitates more dedicated resource to bolster product development and MGA oversight. This role holder will be critical in ensuring we grow profitably by applying first class underwriting judgement. The role holder will also work closely with the Group CUO to refine and implement our global underwriting culture, fine-tune our underwriting appetite and strengthen critical underwriting processes and guidelines to support the highest quality underwriting. The successful candidate must have the flexibility to operate across a wide range of products and exposures: property, primary casualty, excess casualty, specialty casualty, and financial lines. Familiarity with reinsurance purchasing and the MGA market is preferred but not required. The ideal candidate will also have meaningful experience in the E&S space and a strong track record of strategic portfolio management. In addition to proven deep technical skills, the successful candidate must be a credible leader of people and teams, who is committed to excellence and who will also support and contribute to an environment of continuous improvement. This is a highly visible role within the organization, and the successful candidate must have the credibility and gravitas needed to interact with the Group Executive Leadership Team, the Board, and key trading partners.
