About The Position

The Fugro Legal Team plays a critical role in safeguarding the company’s operations and ensuring compliance across global regions. This team provides expert guidance on contract management, negotiation, litigation, intellectual property, and regulatory compliance. In the Americas, the legal group is led by the Regional Head of Legal, who oversees all legal and insurance matters, manages commercial disputes, and drives governance and compliance programs. The team partners closely with internal stakeholders and external counsel to mitigate risk, support strategic initiatives, and uphold Fugro’s commitment to ethical and legal standards. As North America Insurance Specialist y ou will be responsible managing Fugro’s North American insurance programs associated with corporate operations. You will analyze potential risks, and coordinate with internal stakeholders and insurance providers. Fugro will not provide work authorization and/or sponsorship for this opportunity. Fugro will not provide relocation for this job opportunity.

Requirements

  • Authorized to work in the United States, without restrictions.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, pre law , and or Business required.
  • Have five or more year’s experience in placing insurance and managing claims within a corporate setting, risk management group, third-party administrator, insurance carrier, insurance broker, or similar.
  • Possess strong working knowledge of computers and fluent in a variety of software applications (including but not limited to MS Office)
  • Advanced knowledge of Windows operating system, including but not limited to Windows 7
  • Must have excellent and effective oral and written communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • Must have strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Occasional travel may be required for meetings with insurance providers or to conduct risk assessments at various company locations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead by example and place Quality, Health & Safety, Security, and the protection of the Environment as core values while never intentionally placing employees, our processes, customers, or the communities in which we live and work at risk.
  • Oversee the administration of all North American corporate insurance policies, including but not limited to, property, liability (auto and aviation), workers’ compensation, aviation workers’ compensation, US Longshore and Harbor Workers’ Compensation Act, personal injury, protection and indemnity, contractor’s equipment, and Canadian provincial claims.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments to identify potential risks and recommend appropriate mitigation strategies.
  • Liaise with insurance brokers, carriers, and other external partners to negotiate terms and manage relationships.
  • Assist, as needed, with reviewing insurance requirements in contracts.
  • Maintain communication with internal stakeholders and outside brokers to ensure insurance coverage is adjusted, as needed, certificates of insurance are provided in a timely fashion, and endorsements are issued as required.
  • Drive the data collection process for insurance renewals and audits.
  • Prepare and present regular reports on risk management activities and insurance program performance to senior management.
  • Field questions from stakeholders concerning insurance coverage and assist as needed, and occasionally educate, through presentations describing the insurance coverages and their relevance to the business.
  • Track insurance costs related to all claims and ensure timely processing of payment.
  • Use RMIS system to generate, review, and distribute claims and loss run reports to stakeholders.
  • Ensure accordance to company standards, industry standards, QHSSE policy and local regulations.
  • Encourage continuous improvement of company’s processes.
  • Other duties assigned.
