About The Position

The Chief Technology Officer is responsible for provision of all IT services. The CTO will function as technical lead for specific IT systems and provide and/or arrange 24 hour per day, 7 day per week support to the agency as well as supervise the information technology team and carry out responsibilities such as interviewing, hiring and training employees, planning, assigning, directing, appraising performance of staff, addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university
  • 5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience with word processing, spreadsheets, internet software, MS Exchange, various database software, Windows server systems operating environments, network design and administration and data center management.
  • Valid NC driver's license
  • Must have effective team leadership skills
  • Proficiency in budgeting, forecasting and strategic decision-making
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form, and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
  • Must have ability to effectively present information to senior management and/or boards of directors
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, and diagram or schedule form

Responsibilities

  • Provide technology expertise and management insight to organization
  • Manage network administration and data centers
  • Develop strategic plans to facilitate agency goals
  • Develop technology policy and procedure standards
  • Serve as Security Officer for all HIPAA requirements
  • Develop and maintain plans outlining steps and timetables for technology projects
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and all applicable technologies, including scripting, security issues, authoring tools, database and network design and adjust agency standards accordingly
