About The Position

Trajan Wealth is a rapidly growing Registered Investment Advisor (RIA) and Estate Planning firm dedicated to providing clients with personalized financial strategies. Our mission is to help individuals and families achieve financial security through expert guidance, fiduciary responsibility, and transparent service. We are seeking a Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to lead our software development efforts and oversee internal technology infrastructure as we continue to scale. This role is both strategic and hands-on, responsible for aligning technology initiatives with business objectives while ensuring our systems are secure, scalable, and reliable. This position would be fully onsite at our corporate headquarters in Scottsdale AZ.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in related field
  • 10+ years of proven experience in a senior technology leadership role (CTO, VP of Technology, or similar)
  • 7+ years of leadership experience
  • Strong background in software development, architecture, and modern development frameworks
  • Experience leading CRM platforms (Creatio or similar), data platforms, analytics tools, and mobile applications
  • Hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure, cybersecurity, and enterprise systems
  • Experience implementing or overseeing AI, automation, or advanced analytics solutions
  • Ability to balance strategic vision with hands-on execution
  • Strong leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills

  • Prior experience in financial services, wealth management, fintech, legal, or other regulated environments strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute Trajan Wealth's overall technology strategy in alignment with business goals
  • Serve as a key partner to executive leadership on technology planning, innovation, and risk management
  • Build, mentor, and lead internal development and IT teams, and manage third-party vendors and consultants
  • Oversee the design, development, and ongoing enhancement of internal and client-facing software platforms
  • Own and evolve platforms including Creatio (CRM/workflow automation), Snowflake (data warehousing), Sigma (analytics and reporting), and Trajan's mobile application
  • Establish development standards, best practices, and governance across the SDLC
  • Lead the evaluation and implementation of AI-driven solutions to improve Company productivity, operational efficiency, and client experience
  • Ensure all software solutions are scalable, secure, and aligned with long-term business needs
  • Partner closely with business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions
  • Oversee internal infrastructure including cloud environments, networks, systems, and end-user technology
  • Ensure system reliability, performance, disaster recovery, and business continuity
  • Manage cybersecurity strategy, data protection, and vendor risk
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders on systems that support onboarding, collaboration, and productivity
  • Drive responsible adoption of AI and automation, ensuring appropriate controls, security, and compliance
  • Ensure technology controls support regulatory and audit requirements for an RIA and estate planning firm
  • Establish and maintain policies related to data security, access management, and incident response
  • Act as a key contact for technology-related audits, risk assessments, and compliance reviews
