Joy 101 is a mission-driven startup founded by Hoda Kotb, dedicated to guiding everyone on their journey to joy. We offer a simple, affordable, science-backed approach to daily wellness through a beautifully designed mobile app. Inside the app, users discover motivational weekly plans, expert-led practices like breathwork and visualization, inspiring interviews, and more—all designed to help build joyful habits and a resilient mindset. Backed by a seasoned team of operators and investors, Joy 101 is live and gaining momentum. Since our launch in late May 2025, we’ve seen exceptional early traction with over 80,000 email signups and almost 100,000 app downloads —and we’re just getting started. We’re now looking for a senior leader to help drive growth, deepen engagement, and evolve the product into a category-defining wellness platform. Role: Chief Product Officer (Mobile + Website Ecosystem) We’re looking for a product leader to collaborate with our brand, marketing and content teams to drive the success of the company’s digital products. The ideal candidate is a senior product leader with experience scaling consumer mobile products, ideally in the wellness, health, or habit-building space. You’re equally comfortable shaping product strategy, collaborating across teams, and rolling up your sleeves to solve operational challenges. You’ll be instrumental in defining the next chapter of Joy 101.

Requirements

• 7+ years of product leadership experience, including ownership of mobile-first consumer apps. Previous leadership in a venture-backed startup or rapid-growth environment.
• Proven track record of managing and growing amobile app business, with a deep understanding of user acquisition, retention, and monetization. Experience with subscription-based mobile products, in-app purchases, or other mobile monetization strategies.
• Experience withApp Store and Google Play ecosystems, including policies, submissions, and technical compliance.
• Familiarity with content-rich mobile platforms, content workflows, and CMS development.
• Strong analytical mindset; fluent in tools like Firebase, Mixpanel, or Amplitude.
• Experience working cross-functionally with engineering, design, marketing, and content.
• Excellent communication, prioritization, and decision-making skills.
• Passion for wellness, digital health, or building tools that create positive change.

Responsibilities

• Working alongside the brand, marketing and content teams, own the strategy, execution, and performance of the Joy 101 mobile app and digital platform, serving as the product lead for the app and web experiences.
• Partnering with the marketing team, drive the implementation of retention, monetization, and engagement, and oversee full-funnel optimization with a growth mindset.
• Forecast growth, track performance, and lead initiatives to improve key metrics.
• Oversee the product roadmap and lifecycle across iOS and Android, from ideation through post-launch iteration.
• Ensure seamless compliance with Apple and Google policies, and manage direct relationships with platform teams.
• Lead the evolution of our CMS systems, enabling scalable publishing and programming across the app, and making sure the editorial teams have the tools they need.
• Partner with marketing, engineering, customer success, and content teams to deliver a cohesive, high-quality user experience.
• Translate data and user feedback into actionable product improvements through testing and iteration.
• Stay ahead of mobile trends, competitor activity, and user behavior in the wellness and digital health space.
