About The Position

As a member of the JR286 global executive team, the Senior Vice President and Chief Operations Officer (COO) provides enterprise-wide leadership and translates the Company's business strategy and values across all regions, channels, and functions. The COO serves as the voice of Operations to internal stakeholders, brand partners, vendors, and customers worldwide and has primary responsibility for building and scaling the infrastructure (strategy, people, process, technology, facilities, and governance) that enables sustainable growth across multiple geographies, channels, product categories, and brands.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated success working with and complementing a passionate President/CEO/Founder within a fast-growing, consumer-focused business, ideally with multi-brand and multi-channel complexity.
  • Experience building and leading strong global teams and scalable processes for growth companies or divisions, including managing leaders across multiple regions and time zones.
  • Deep experience in end-to-end global operations and supply chain, including strategic sourcing, production, global logistics, inventory management, and international trade and customs compliance.
  • Proven track record overseeing multi-site facilities management, including planning and operating corporate, logistics, and production facilities, with strong emphasis on safety, security, environmental stewardship, and business continuity.
  • Experience implementing and optimizing operational systems and processes to drive efficiency, visibility, and decision quality in a fast-growing environment.
  • Experience working with global operations and distribution partners (e.g., distributors, 3PLs, outsourced manufacturing) across regions such as Asia, Europe, and the Americas.
  • Background in sporting goods or related consumer products that experienced significant growth over a 3–5 year period.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field required; advanced degree (e.g., MBA, Supply Chain, Engineering, or Operations Management) preferred.
  • A big thinker who is willing to be hands-on when needed, including supporting front-line teams to meet customer needs and critical deadlines.
  • Fast learner who requires limited ramp-up and consistently finds ways to get things done in ambiguous, rapidly changing environments.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously and to pivot quickly without losing composure or focus.
  • Credible, data-driven decision-maker who is not afraid to take a clear stance once evidence is in hand; not a "yes" person.

  • A builder versus an administrator, with a track record of designing and scaling new capabilities, organizations, and networks.
  • Willingness to travel globally (up to 20%) as needed to support suppliers, facilities, teams, and customers (e.g., Asia, Europe, Americas).
  • Strong communication skills and availability to engage with the CEO and leadership team across time zones, including outside normal business hours when necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Strategy and Global Leadership: Serve as an integral member of the executive team, co-developing company-wide strategic goals with a focus on how end-to-end global operations, supply chain, and facilities can strengthen the Company's strategic position. Deeply understand the fundamentals of the business, operations, and customers in each region and guide operational investments—people, processes, systems, and physical assets—to the areas most critical for long-term growth, profitability, and resilience.
  • Global Supply Chain, Logistics and Distribution: Own the global supply chain strategy from source to customer, including procurement, production planning, inventory management, transportation, customs and trade compliance, and last-mile delivery. Build and optimize a multi-node global logistics and distribution network (internal and third-party) that delivers world-class service levels, cost efficiency, and agility across all channels and regions.
  • Supply Planning and Capacity: Lead all aspects of supply planning and long-range capacity planning, working cross-functionally with demand planning, product, sales, and finance, and regional leadership. Ensure appropriate global capacity, inventory positioning, and contingency planning so the Company can consistently deliver against its commercial plans and manage volatility in demand and supply.
  • Production and Sourcing: Set the strategic and tactical direction for global production and strategic sourcing, and procurement, aligned with the Company's mission, global sourcing strategies, stakeholder expectations, and Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) commitments. Establish and manage a diversified global supplier and factory base, including second-tier suppliers, that balances cost, quality, speed, risk, and sustainability.
  • Global Facilities Management: Provide executive oversight for the Company's global facilities portfolio, including offices, distribution centers, manufacturing/assembly sites, and other operational locations. Ensure facilities are planned, designed, maintained, and operated to support business continuity, productivity, employee experience, and brand standards while optimizing lifecycle cost, utilization, and environmental performance.
  • Safety, Security, and Regulatory Compliance: Establish and oversee a comprehensive global health, safety, security, and Health, Safety, Security, and Environment (HSSE) program across all operations and facilities. Ensure compliance with all applicable international, federal, state, and local regulations, including workplace safety, environmental standards, product safety, and international trade and customs requirements. Champion a culture of safety, risk awareness, and incident prevention and ensure robust crisis management, business continuity, and security protocols for people, products, sites, and information.
  • Warehouse, Distribution, and Fulfillment: Build and continuously improve processes, technology, and teams to support effective pick/pack/ship, returns, and value-added services operations across a global network of distribution and fulfillment centers. Assess and execute on the need for additional distribution facilities, automation, outsourcing, and nearshoring/offshoring strategies to prepare for current and future growth in all channels.
  • Quality and Operational Excellence: Drive continuous interaction with Manufacturing, Engineering, Product, and regional partners to ensure global quality and reliability requirements are defined, understood, and met. Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the Company's global quality systems, including product quality, supplier/factory performance, second-tier suppliers, and end-to-end process quality assurance and quality control. Champion a culture of operational excellence leveraging KPI-driven management, Lean/Six Sigma, and digital tools to improve service, cost, speed, safety, and sustainability.
  • People Leadership and Culture: Attract, develop, and retain a high-performing, globally distributed operations organization. Build strong, diverse teams and scalable processes for growth, ensuring clear accountability, succession planning, and leadership development across regions and functions. Foster a culture of collaboration, inclusion, continuous improvement, and customer-centricity that reflects the Company's values.
  • Stakeholder and Partner Management: Build strong relationships with brand partners, distributors, key customers, strategic suppliers, and third-party logistics and facilities partners worldwide. Serve as a trusted advisor to the President/CEO/Founder and the leadership team, providing data-driven insights, operational risk assessments, and recommendations to support strategic decisions and capital allocation. Other responsibilities as assigned.
