About The Position

We're building the ground truth platform for AI. Generic tools hallucinate data, confabulate reports, and don't show their work. We made accuracy the only possible outcome: every answer traces to its source, every calculation is reproducible, every insight is defensible. We're starting in finance and building the foundational data layer for anywhere decisions depend on trustworthy data. Kepler was founded by two Palantir veterans (20 years combined) who built core parts of Gotham and Foundry, created Palantir Quiver (the analytics engine behind $100M+ deals with BP and Airbus), led major DoD projects, and served as Head of Business Engineering at Citadel. Kepler is backed by founders of OpenAI, Facebook AI, MotherDuck, dbt, Outerbounds, and others. The Role As Chief of Staff at Kepler, you'll be the operational force multiplier for our founding team. You'll work directly with our CEO to drive strategic initiatives, ensure cross-functional alignment, and build the operational foundation that allows a high-growth AI company to scale without losing speed. This role embodies a core startup truth: execution is everything. You'll be in the room where decisions are made, then own making them happen. From investor communications to strategic planning to unblocking critical projects, you'll touch every part of the business and ensure nothing falls through the cracks. Within your first 90 days, you will: Develop a deep understanding of Kepler's business, product, customers, and competitive landscape Own the operating cadence: team meetings, planning cycles, and internal communications Drive 2-3 strategic initiatives from scoping through execution Build relationships across the organization and become a trusted partner to leadership This is the right role if you want a front-row seat to building a category-defining company, with the responsibility and autonomy to shape how we operate as we scale.

Requirements

  • 4-7 years of experience in high-performance environments: management consulting, investment banking, private equity, venture capital, or operating roles at high-growth startups.
  • Exceptional project management: Track record of driving complex, cross-functional initiatives to completion in fast-paced settings.
  • Strong analytical skills: Comfort with ambiguous problems, ability to structure thinking, and fluency with data-driven decision making.
  • Outstanding communication: Excellent written and verbal skills, with the ability to synthesize complexity into clarity for any audience.
  • High judgment and discretion: Experience handling sensitive information and navigating organizational dynamics with maturity.
  • Bias for action: You default to doing, not waiting. You're resourceful and relentless about getting things done.
  • NYC-based: This role requires in-person presence at our NYC headquarters.

Nice To Haves

  • Startup experience: Previous role at an early-stage or high-growth company.
  • Financial services exposure: Familiarity with investment management, research workflows, or fintech.
  • Technical fluency: Enough technical context to engage credibly with engineering and product teams.
  • People operations experience: Background in recruiting, HR, or organizational design.

Responsibilities

  • Extend the CEO's leverage: Serve as a trusted partner to the CEO, taking ownership of strategic priorities and ensuring leadership bandwidth is focused on the highest-impact work.

  • Build operational excellence: Design and run the operating rhythms that keep a fast-moving team aligned: planning cycles, OKRs, leadership meetings, all-hands, and board prep.
  • Be the connective tissue: Ensure information flows across teams, dependencies are tracked, and nothing slips. Identify misalignment early and resolve it.
  • Support fundraising and investor relations: Prepare board materials, manage investor updates, and support fundraising processes as needed.
  • Solve ambiguous problems: Take on the critical work that doesn't fit neatly into any one function. These are the undefined but essential projects that emerge at a scaling startup.
  • Shape company culture: Help build the rituals, communications, and practices that define how Kepler works as we grow.
