About The Position

We’re looking for a strategic and results-driven Chief of Staff to support Sunwest Bank’s Chief Technology and Strategy Officer (CTSO). This role will lead cross-functional initiatives across AI product launches, operational improvements, mergers & acquisitions, and executive portfolio management. You’ll act as a key integrator—translating high-level priorities into measurable outcomes across Technology, Operations, and Corporate Development.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from a top 20 university required; MBA or MS in Engineering/Data preferred.
  • 5-10 years of total experience
  • 2-3 years at a top-tier consulting firm (MBB) or investment bank
  • 3-5 years leading strategy or program management in tech, fintech, or SaaS
  • Comfortable discussing Azure, AI/ML concepts, and data architecture. Coding not required
  • Skilled in financial modeling, Agile/OKR frameworks, Jira/Azure DevOps, and Power BI.
  • Strong executive presence, organizational excellence, proactive mindset, ability to influence without authority, and discretion with sensitive information.
  • 20%-25% travel required

Responsibilities

  • Partner closely with the CTSO to align strategic priorities across Technology, Operations, and Corporate Development.
  • Lead and coordinate cross-functional initiatives, including AI product launches, operational efficiency programs, and M&A activities.
  • Translate executive goals into actionable plans and measurable outcomes across departments.
  • Manage executive portfolio projects, ensuring timely execution and stakeholder alignment.
  • Facilitate decision-making by preparing briefings, synthesizing data, and driving follow-through on key initiatives.
  • Serve as a liaison between the CTSO and internal teams, promoting transparency and collaboration.
  • Monitor progress on strategic initiatives and provide regular updates to senior leadership.
  • Identify and resolve operational bottlenecks, enabling scalable growth and innovation.
  • Support hiring, onboarding, and team development efforts within the CTSO’s organization.
  • Demonstrates high degree of professionalism in communication, attitude and teamwork with customers, peers and management

  • Understands and complies with all company rules and regulations
  • Attends training and maintains a basic knowledge of procedures to ensure compliance with laws and regulations governing financial institutions, as they apply to your position and job responsibilities, with an emphasis on the BSA/AML/CIP, Consumer Privacy, Regulation CC, Information Security, Bank Protection Act, FACT-Identity Theft, Information Technology and GLBA.
