Microsoft Advertising is seeking a Chief-of-Staff who serves as a strategic, trusted advisor to the CVP and Leadership Team. The CoS amplifies leadership impact, ensures the business runs effectively, and orchestrates cross‑functional alignment in a fast‑paced, highly dynamic environment. This role blends strategy, operations, communications, culture, and “air‑traffic control” to ensure the org operates as one unified, high‑performing team. The ideal candidate is able to effectively context switch, always pivoting broadly across a number of connected and disconnected workstreams. You serve as the gateway into MAI and represent MSA in a number of critical ways; it’s important you understand the business deeply and can advocate for the needs of MSA across a variety of topics – resourcing, space, communication, employee award programs, recruiting, etc. Microsoft’s mission is to empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more. Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in relevant field (e.g., Liberal Arts, Business Administration, Management, Computer Science) AND 8+ years experience in financial management, business planning, operations management, strategy, project management, human resources or business-related roles OR equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Advisor: Act as a thought partner and strategic ally to leaders, while simultaneously serving as an honest broker to teams across the organization. You play the role of a true confidant and trusted advisor to the CVP and broader leadership team. Effective advisors are not just "yes" people; they equally advocate for the needs of their team and drive accountability across the organization.
  • Executive Support: Partner closely with CVP to ensure vision and intent are effectively communicated, acting as a force multiplier connecting people, processes, and workstreams behind the scenes. Ensure CVP readiness for internal and external meetings and forums, partnering across the organization to bring the right people and content together.
  • Leadership Operating Rhythm: Establish, run, and continually improve the Leadership Team’s operating rhythm, inclusive of Staff Meetings, Offsites, Ad-Hoc alignment topics / meetings, people and talent rhythm (partnering with HR), etc.
  • Organizational Operations: Represent, advocate for, and manage a variety of needs required to running the business including, but not limited to: Annual planning, ad-hoc budget and HC investment needs, ongoing budget management, recruiting and HC management, office space.
  • People Management: Manage team of two FTEs who oversee Communications and Employee Experiences, ensuring full coordination and dot connecting.
  • Employee Experiences: Oversee the strategy and execution of employee programs across career development, onboarding, culture building efforts, D&I and Community management, and more. Partner across HR, Comms, and leaders to elevate culture, D&I initiatives, manager capability, talent health, and employee listening systems.
  • Executive Communications: Lead internal communications for the org, driving consistent storytelling of strategy, priorities, and changes. Lead external CVP engagements including customer meetings, EBCs, and industry events.
  • Embody and promote Microsoft’s culture and values.
