Add a Spark to the Ordinary The Chief of Staff is Blank Street’s swiss army knife. We are looking for someone equal parts Left Brain: you can build clear & actionable decks, analyze data sets, plan and run our annual/quarterly meetings, and Right Brain: you can put together well curated Pinterest Boards for our store design team, pull & synthesize the latest F&B social trends, and jump behind bar when needed. This position will offer you a unique opportunity to make an impact across our brand and play a critical role in our senior leadership team.

Requirements

  • Previously at a high-growth company. F&B, consumer products, retail experience is a plus.
  • 4+ years of operational experience in consulting/finance/startups with proficiency in Excel and PPT.

  • MBA preferred but not required.
  • Even if you have not worked in F&B, you are incredibly passionate about the industry. You have a strong appreciation for aesthetics, good coffee, food, and hospitality.
  • You have a strong bias for action.
  • Super versatile, you don’t mind context switching from debating color palettes to organizing data sets or building decks.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in putting together all key communication documents & memos from All-Hands Meeting slides, to Quarterly/Annual Planning slides and memos, and Board Meeting slides.
  • Simplify & streamline decision-making across teams.
  • Actively anticipate problems/opportunities across the org and put together memos/policies for proposed solutions.
  • Join every meeting, take meetings on my behalf, and ensure clear follow-ups.
  • Develop and implement systems to improve workflows & time management for the leadership team and CEO.
  • Implement the right systems to stay organized & manage the amount of context switching & multi-tasking you are doing.
  • Manage & train our team on using our organizational tools such as Notion & Google Drive ensuring all teams are aligned, wikis are up to date.
  • Consider the needs of the whole org, parachute support across our different teams to support on research, planning, creative brainstorming when needed.
  • Project manage our key planning & strategy meetings (leadership meetings, quarterly/annual planning, board meetings).
  • Facilitate clear and effective communication across the leadership team ensuring no one is working in silos & priorities are aligned.
  • Keep the leadership team focused on their priorities and track deliverables.
  • Build deep trust & relationships with team members across the whole org, acting as trusted advisor to our team.
