About The Position

The World Missions Chief of Staff shall serve The Navigators and fulfill the responsibilities listed below in the spirit of The Navigators calling, values and purpose: To advance the Gospel of Jesus and His kingdom into the nations through spiritual generations of laborers living and discipling among the lost. This position serves the World Missions Ministry of The Navigators by supporting and increasing the capacity and effectiveness of the World Missions Director and World Missions Leadership Community to fulfill their responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Profess salvation in Christ and have assurance of salvation.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the World Mission Director and Directors Team in the day-to-day functions of the U.S. World Missions Home Team.
  • Prepare and lead agendas for regular leadership team meetings, offsites and tracking action items
  • Assist the WM Leadership team(s) in setting policy, making decisions, and having the relevant information needed to do both.
  • World Missions representative for questions and requests from HQ departments.
  • Lead and direct specific initiatives and projects aligned with World Mission’s long-term and strategic direction
  • Maintain accurate staff reports for use by all of the WM teams.
  • Lead regular connection with WM admins ensuring integration, efficiency, development and care for this essential support team.
  • Oversee general office projects including but not limited to interactions with facilities.
  • Assist the WM Operations Manager with the annual mission planning including but not limited to helping gather OKRs for ISP reporting.
  • Assist the WM Operations Manager to track results and communicate progress to the WM leadership community.
  • Help create systems and processes that increase efficiency and effectiveness toward World Missions Goals.
  • World Missions Home Team point of contact for questions and requests from WM Home and Away Teams.
  • Build and cultivate relationships of trust and collaboration between World Missions and other Missions and HQ departments.
  • Serve as an advocate: By communicating the perspective of field staff to other HQ departments. And when appropriate, communicating WMHT and HQ perspective to field staff.
  • Represent World Missions on cross-functional teams and/or one time events as needed and requested.
  • Engage with World Missions staff when they visit from out of town to stay connected to the needs of the field and build relationships of trust and understanding.
  • Travel domestically for occasional regional meetings, conferences, or STPs as able and requested by your supervisor.
  • Travel internationally as able and requested to connect with WM Away Team in their ministry contexts as able and requested by your supervisor.
  • Handle data, communication and projects that are highly privileged and confidential.
  • Ensure alignment and appropriateness of World Missions communications channels managed by different WM teams (ie HTH, Connect, etc)
  • Work to remove barriers that hamper communication within the organization.
  • Provide oversight and coordination to Home Team events including but not limited to HT lunches, Christmas Party, etc.
  • Create and execute a plan for personal and ministry development.
  • Participate in development events such as Nav Rep Summits, SHAW training or other non-Navigator developmental events as appropriate.
  • Engage in Bible study designed to further your ministry effectiveness.
  • Receive mentoring from veteran Nav Staff or other believers.
  • Engage in personal ministry as a part of your role as desired and agreed upon with your supervisor.
  • Personal fundraising and communicating with ministry partners
  • Funding trips to visit donors in person as requested and approved by supervisor
  • Participate in annual processes, such as the organizational Plan and Progress Review (PPR), Engagement Survey, Reaffirmation of the Navigators Code of Conduct, Calling-Core Values-Vision, Statement of Faith, Driver’s Authorization, and other releases as required.
  • Complete monthly expense reports in a timely manner.
