About The Position

This role is the L1 Chief of Staff (CoS) to the Chief Strategy & Transformation Officer (CS&TO) who oversees the Global Strategy, Corporate Development and Transformation organizations. The CoS will act as a strategic operator, force multiplier, and trusted partner to the CS&TO. This is a critical role in driving key enterprise strategic initiatives, optimizing organizational effectiveness, and ensuring seamless execution across the business, blends strategy, operations, and execution enablement. This is a highly visible, individual contributor role that requires significant interaction with the Executive Leadership Team organization, including the L1 CoS community. As an extension of the CS&TO, this role also requires exceptional diplomacy and influencing skills to facilitate alignment, collaboration, and performance across the Strategy & Transformation (S&T) Leadership Team, driving both operational excellence and cultural impact. This role is based in Palo Alto, CA, and is expected to comply with HP’s Hybrid Work policy of a minimum 3 days in the office per week.

  • 12+ years of progressive leadership experience in strategy, AI, operations, or transformation within a complex, matrixed enterprise.
  • Demonstrated success building and scaling operating models that improve decision-making and organizational performance.
  • Strong acumen in OKR frameworks, digital execution tools and AI-driven productivity platforms.
  • Proven ability to lead through influence, ambiguity, and change with empathy and accountability.

Responsibilities

  • Executive Leadership Team (ELT) and Board of Directors Engagement: Manage operating mechanisms for the ELT to ensure alignment on strategy, monitor execution, and remove roadblocks to success. Own the preparation and coordination of all materials for Board of Directors meetings, including agenda setting, presentation development, and follow-up on action items. Prepare the CS&TO for critical external engagements, including investor presentations, earnings calls, and speaking opportunities.
  • Strategic Planning & Execution: Work with the S&T organization and ELT CoS to facilitate the strategic planning process, translating high-level objectives into tangible, company-wide goals. Monitor the execution of key strategic initiatives, providing regular updates to the CSTO and the S&T leadership team. Identify and help solve high-priority, cross-functional business issues that do not fall neatly into a single department.
  • Strategic Leadership & Operational Excellence Partner with the CSTO on defining annual priorities, LTP outcomes, and leadership communications to the ELT and Board of Directors. Lead the priorities planning rhythm and integration of OKRs across the S&T team to enable alignment and accountability. Scale AI-enabled instant work tools to accelerate execution and data-driven decision-making. Streamline cross-functional planning and quarterly business reviews, linking insights to measurable business outcomes. Manage the S&T Leadership team’s operational cadence, including prep and facilitation of regular staff meetings, AEMs, F2F agendas, ad hoc huddles/townhalls. Manage continual improvement and operations for technology platforms and pan-S&T Org processes.
  • Cross-Functional Influence & Partnership Serve as an enterprise connector across HP’s ELT L1 CoS community, ensuring Strategy initiatives are integrated, resourced, and communicated effectively. Provide counsel to the CSTO on strategic priorities, organizational design, and stakeholder alignment.
  • People, Culture & Leadership Development Activate HP’s Leadership Principles—Start with Customers, Develop the Team, Deliver Outcomes—through leadership forums, engagement programs, and coaching. Partner closely with HR & CSTO to strengthen leadership capability, talent readiness, and team culture within the Strategy organization. Lead initiatives to boost employee engagement, connection, and performance across the S&T organization.
