For more information, visit www.redditinc.com. We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Chief of Staff (CoS) to be the right-hand partner to our Chief Product Officer (CPO). The ideal candidate will bring product sense + business acumen, complemented by hands-on product experience operating within a high-performing tech product organization and top-tier consulting experience (e.g., McKinsey, BCG, Bain), strong strategic and analytical skills. This is a Director-level position. Reporting directly to the CPO, the Chief of Staff will be responsible for streamlining the work of the Office of the CPO: supporting the CPO and her directs in scaling impact, magnifying presence both within and outside Reddit, and driving performance against strategic initiatives across the product and tech organization and cross-functional partners. The ideal candidate thrives in ambiguity, is a self-starter, able to define scope for themselves and drive impact and efficacy by leading with humility and building indirect influence. Location: San Francisco-Office, NYC-Office, or remote-US, in that order of preference.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of relevant experience in 2 or more of the following areas:
  • Strategic consulting experience
  • Product strategy & operations, business operations, or a similar role at a tech company
  • Chief of Staff experience supporting a product/technology or general management leader
  • Financial analyst / business analyst within the tech industry
  • Product management experience (required) or equivalent hands-on product ownership experience
  • Experience working at a public company - deep understanding of the rhythm of the business in a high-growth, publicly traded company environment
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills, with a proven ability to synthesize complex data/insights and build actionable strategies around the highest impact opportunities (data-backed recommendations).
  • Outstanding communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to build trust and influence across all levels (C-level to IC)
  • Proven track record of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Results-oriented and committed to driving measurable impact
  • Innovative operator, accustomed to leveraging technology (i.e., AI, tooling), to scale, improve, and help the team operate more effectively
  • Strong product sense and business acumen, ability to reason about user needs, product strategy, tradeoffs, and measurable outcomes, while communicating clearly with product, design, engineering, data, and XFN partners

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Thought Partnership
  • Identify gaps or opportunities in the product strategy or execution and provide ideas to address; drive strategic alignment and a plan forward
  • Identify areas of opportunity and develop a strategic point of view leveraging external research and resources (e.g., consumer product and social trends; competitive analysis across feed, search, onboarding, creator tools, moderation, notifications; emerging AI product patterns; community platforms and engagement loops)
  • Serve as a “second set of eyes” on behalf of the executive team for product plans and execution reviews
  • Partner hands-on with the CPO to take ambitious ideas from concept to prototype and validation – helping define hypotheses, shaping MVP scope, coordinating rapid experimentation (qual + quant), and building a clear, evidence-backed recommendation on whether to invest and bring those ideas to life (or not). This requires strong product experience and product judgment.
  • Operational Excellence
  • Align the product organization around the annual plan and drive performance – e.g., in partnership with the CPO, put in place a clear and effective Rhythm of Business, build/maintain goals, review forums and materials, and track action items within the CPO’s purview
  • Support the CPO to execute on the company-level operating rhythm (board meetings, QBRs, earnings calls), with a product lens and crisp narrative
  • Spearhead strategic explorations or initiatives from inception to execution (e.g., new product bets, portfolio tradeoffs, strategic planning processes, operating model upgrades)
  • Prioritize daily, weekly action items, delegating between themselves, EA, and CPO
  • Be a communication point in and out via a number of channels to teams
