The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is accountable for the overall financial and administrative operations of the company, including Accounting, Information Technology (IT), Human Resources (HR), and administrative functions. The CFO is responsible for developing and monitoring control systems designed to preserve company assets, ensure compliance, support strategic decision-making, and report accurate financial and operational results. The CFO plans, directs, and oversees the company’s financial strategy, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and administrative infrastructure, while providing leadership and guidance to department managers and ensuring alignment with the organization’s strategic goals. The CFO promotes a collaborative, ethical, and high-performance work environment aligned with company Core Values. The CFO works onsite at our corporate headquarters and manufacturing facility in Eugene, Oregon.

Requirements

  • Advanced knowledge of accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, and internal controls
  • Strategic financial planning and analytical skills
  • Experience with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems and financial software
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and lead cross-functional teams
  • High level of discretion, professionalism, and sound judgment
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Ten or more years of progressive financial and leadership experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Prior experience overseeing multiple functional areas (e.g., Accounting, HR, IT, Administration) preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic financial leadership to the President and executive team, including long-term financial planning and analysis
  • Develop and oversee the company’s financial strategy, including budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow planning
  • Monitor financial performance and provide timely, accurate reporting and analysis to support management decision-making
  • Ensure the integrity of financial statements and reporting in accordance with all federal, state, local, and professional requirements
  • Review and approve monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and trial balances
  • Oversee the timely and accurate closing of monthly financials and ensure proper cut-off and controls
  • Examine, evaluate, and continuously improve accounting controls, policies, and reporting processes
  • Serve as executive point person for the annual financial review and coordination with external CPAs
  • Oversee financial transactions of related companies
  • Monitor cash balances and oversee cash flow forecasting and liquidity planning
  • Serve as primary point of contact for banking relationships and financing activities
  • Oversee insurance programs, including workers’ compensation, general liability, and other corporate policies
  • Provide executive oversight for state tax audits, financial audits, and regulatory inquiries
  • Provide executive oversight of Human Resources functions, including benefits administration, compensation strategy, compliance, and employee policies
  • Coordinate with HR resources on annual benefits renewals, open enrollment, and 401(k) administration, including ERISA filings and external vendors
  • Ensure HR practices align with legal requirements and company culture
  • Provide executive oversight of IT systems, infrastructure, cybersecurity, and technology vendors to ensure operational reliability and data integrity
  • Ensure systems adequately support accounting, reporting, HR, and operational needs
  • Oversee administrative functions to ensure efficient internal processes and strong internal controls
  • Lead, mentor, and develop department managers across Accounting, IT, HR, and Administration
  • Build and maintain an effective administrative leadership team through selection, training, performance management, and professional development
  • Promote a collaborative, ethical, and high-performance work environment
  • Provide special financial and operational reporting to the President as required
