About The Position

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is responsible overseeing all the corporate general accounting and financial reporting functions, including all financial reporting. In this role, the CFO ensures reports are prepared in compliance with all applicable economic policies, SEC requirements, and US GAAP. Additionally, the CFO is responsible for the development and implementation of internal controls that ensure the continuous safeguarding of company assets. The CFO must be a trusted advisor who works alongside business partners on strategic corporate initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in the field of accounting, finance, business, business administration, or other directly related fields of study (Additional years of experience in accounting, finance, business, business administration may substitute for the required education)
  • Ten (10) plus years of experience in accounting or a similar position
  • Five (5) years of experience managing all areas of profit and loss and balance sheet accounting
  • Ten (10) years of experience in budgeting/forecasting/variance analysis
  • Five (5) years of general computer usage with the web browsing experience
  • Five (5) years of experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Accounting regulations, practices, and standards
  • Budget, cost, and profitability management skills
  • Project and change management and associated methodologies, techniques, processes, and approaches (e.g., Project and Portfolio Management Methodology – PPM) at the expert-level
  • Considering the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one
  • Juggle multiple goals and deadlines in the context of the big picture, work in a fast-paced environment, and anticipate the needs of a changing landscape
  • Resource management tools at an advanced level
  • Identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions
  • Display analytical skills, be resourceful, and well organized
  • Strong knowledge of Excel and highly skilled in PowerPoint and MS Word

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s Degree or higher in the field of accounting, finance, business, business administration, or other directly related fields of study
  • Five (5) years of experience meeting and surpassing goals, evidenced by key performance indicators or pre-/post-event measured activities
  • Oil, gas, or energy industry or SaaS business model experience

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to corporate strategic planning and initiatives with Senior Leadership Team (SLT) by strategizing on business needs
  • Enforce proper accounting policies, methods, and principles to ensure that internal controls are in place to provide reasonable assurances that the company's assets are protected
  • Prepare and maintain annual accounting, corporate, divisional budgets and reporting mechanisms as required and requested to include training and assisting leaders with departmental budgets
  • Work closely with the company's CPA and third-party auditors year-round, to determine taxability status by state, ensure the accuracy of books, complete annual audits, make year-end close entries, etc.
  • Produce and report monthly departmental and consolidated financials to company leaders via reporting mechanisms as required and requested
  • Responsible for income and franchise tax compliance, review of monthly commissions and quarterly bonuses, line of credit reporting, managing corporate credit card accounts, etc.
  • Oversee daily cash flow management of all bank accounts, weekly cash reporting to the CEO, monthly borrowing base and financials sent to the bank, etc.
  • Perform other related job functions as assigned
