About The Position

Leidos is seeking a Chemist to provide synthesis, characterization, and analysis of energetic materials support to DEVCOM Armaments Center in Picatinny Arsenal, NJ. Primary Responsibilities Design and execute synthesis and characterization of novel energetic materials and precursor materials. Apply advanced manufacturing techniques (continuous flow chemistry for example), process development tools (EZ Max), and process analytical tools to develop efficient synthetic processes Work in a laboratory setting operating various analytical instruments performing routine analysis and new method development of energetic materials analyses. Pay Range: Pay Range $92,300.00 - $166,850.00 The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a BS degree in Chemistry
  • 10+ years of relevant experience, specifically with energetic materials synthesis, characterization, and analysis
  • Demonstrated experience in multi-step synthesis and spectral methods to establish chemical structures
  • Proficiency in spectral analysis, operating continuous flow reactors, conducting process development utilizing EZ max reactors
  • Proven track record of synthesis, analysis and problem solving
  • US citizenship required.

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to obtain Secret clearance if required
