About The Position

Azelis is seeking a Chemist for our Care Laboratory located in Princeton, NJ. This Chemist is responsible for the production of prototype formulations to assist Azelis in bringing innovative solutions and speed to market support for the Care business. This is a hands-on laboratory bench position requiring clear technical thinking, consistent focus on safety, good communication skills, and enthusiastic collaboration. The role will focus on prototype support and include general lab and site-specific duties. Responsibilities

  • Produce prototype formulations and supporting documentation for use by commercial team
  • Plan, produce, and package prototype batches
  • Run supporting test methods for formulation performance testing
  • Compile data from evaluations and interpret results to form sounds conclusions and recommendations
  • Support other Care projects with routine performance testing and analysis
  • Maintain a laboratory notebook
  • Report project work and findings -internally and externally according to the requirements of each project opportunity
  • Utilize digital lab tools (current and future)
  • Input in-house and supplier formulations into company formulation system
  • Manage lab projects in project management tool
  • Implement laboratory procedures
  • Always Maintain good Health and Safety Procedures in the laboratory
  • Actively work within the safety requirements of the Azelis labs and participate in safety improvement activities.
  • Ensure accurate records are kept in line with regulatory requirements
  • Maintain inventory and stock records, where required
  • Maintain laboratory equipment and standard operating procedures. Setup new equipment if acquired. Familiarity with common equipment trouble shooting skills is an asset.
  • Provide support and participate in staff meetings and training events, or tradeshows as required. This may include occasional travel.
  • Assist with lab tours, presentations, and demonstrations related to internal, customer, or principal meetings.
  • Assist in organizing on-site activities and administrative tasks associated with lab functions and information management
  • Other duties assigned according to business, lab, and site needs
