About The Position

At Harcros Chemicals Inc., an employee-owned company with a rich legacy in specialty chemical manufacturing and distribution, we're continuously expanding. With 2 manufacturing plants and 27 distribution facilities across 20 states, we're seeking a dedicated Chemical Worker- Driver professional to join our team. Reporting to the Warehouse Manager, this role will drive gasoline or diesel-powered truck to transport and deliver products, or materials in liquid, loose, or packaged form.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • 2+ years related experience and/or training.
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Valid commercial driver's license (all classes) and Hazardous Materials and Tank Endorsements, or ability to obtain certifications.
  • Ability to pass DOT physical examination
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and procedure manuals.
  • Effective communication skills with customers and colleagues.
  • Problem-solving skills in standardized situations.

Nice To Haves

  • Forklift experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Transport hazardous materials in compliance with all applicable regulations and safety standards.
  • Read and interpret customer orders, shipping papers, or purchase orders.
  • Inspect trucks for defects before and after trips; submit condition reports as required.
  • Pick up products from vendor warehouses, verify correctness of product, volume, and paperwork, and deliver to Company warehouse or customers.
  • Maintain accurate driver logs according to I.C.C. regulations and complete required paperwork such as bills of lading, waybills, inspection reports, driver log, trip reports, and container return reports.
  • Assist in loading and unloading trucks; operate forklifts as needed.
  • Collect empty containers and products that need to be returned.
  • Perform routine inspections on truck equipment and supplies.
  • Perform warehouse tasks include maintaining warehouse cleanliness and assisting with housekeeping.
  • Respond to incidents or safety hazards based on the site's emergency action plan.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
  • Generate, handle, and/or inspect hazardous waste and hazardous waste storage.
  • Respond or manage hazardous waste spills and incidents based on the site's emergency action or contingency plan.
  • Prepare and manage hazardous waste records such as manifests, inspection logs, waste determination and other reports.
