Chef – WarHorse Gaming Omaha SUMMARY DESCRIPTION: The Chef supports the Executive Chef in leading daily kitchen operations and ensuring all menu items are executed to the highest quality and consistency standards. This role is responsible for supervising culinary staff, coordinating kitchen operations, managing food costs, and delivering an exceptional dining experience for guests. COMPENSATION: $26.00 – $30.00 per hour, based on experience SHIFT: This position is currently listed as a day shift; however, schedule is subject to change based on business needs at the time of hire and throughout employment. Must be flexible to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/DUTIES: Support and uphold the Mission, Vision, and Values of WarHorse Gaming, LLC Assist in managing day-to-day kitchen operations, including task delegation and staff supervision Ensure all food is prepared according to established recipes, specifications, and presentation standards Monitor food quality, consistency, and portion control Collaborate with the Executive Chef on menu development, including large party and specialty menus Train, coach, and develop culinary team members Assist in scheduling, performance management, and staff development Maintain proper food handling, sanitation, and safety standards Oversee inventory, ordering, and receiving of all food and kitchen supplies Ensure proper storage and rotation of all products Assist with cost control measures, including menu costing and labor management Maintain organization and cleanliness of all kitchen and food outlets Utilize POS and inventory systems to track product and maintain accurate records Provide exceptional guest service and maintain a professional appearance Attend meetings and training sessions as required Perform other duties as assigned JOB SPECIFICATIONS: Must be 19 years of age or older Associate degree in Culinary Arts or related field preferred; equivalent experience accepted Minimum of 5 years of kitchen experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory role Strong leadership, communication, and team development skills Excellent organizational and time management abilities Knowledge of kitchen equipment, food preparation techniques, and safety standards Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills Commitment to high-quality food and guest service CERTIFICATIONS & LICENSING: Ability to obtain and maintain a Nebraska Gaming License ServSafe Certification required Food Handler Certification required TIPS Alcohol Certification required WORK ENVIRONMENT & SCHEDULE: Fast-paced, high-volume kitchen environment Must be available to work flexible schedules, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays BENEFITS Medical, dental, and vision coverage 401(k) with immediate vesting and company match Paid vacation, holidays, and sick time Quarterly incentive program EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER Ho-Chunk, Inc. / WarHorse Gaming is an equal opportunity employer.
