Charge Nurse
About The Position
This is a daytime shift working 7:30 am - 4:30 pm. The Thomson-Hood Veterans Center is a 285-bed long term care facility located in beautiful Wilmore, Kentucky that is committed to serving Kentucky’s Veterans by fostering independence, preserving dignity and providing compassionate care. We are currently seeking a motivated Registered Nurse to work in our nursing department as a Charge Nurse (Infection Control and Preventionist). Skill and expectations for this position include but are not limited to: Experience in infection control and data collection including keeping employee vaccine records current, tracks and reports on resident infections and analyzes for trends and patterns. Leads Investigations of possible incidences of infection and implements infection control policy accurately. Organizes and works with staff development coordinator to facilitate scheduled training and in services with staff to educate on infection control policy and procedures. Organizes and facilitates infection meetings quarterly and interprets reports to committee. Requirements
- EDUCATION: See Special Requirements.
- EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: Must have two years of experience as a Registered Nurse.
- SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (AGE, LICENSURE, REGULATION, ETC.): Must be licensed in Kentucky as a registered nurse or possess a valid work permit issued by the Kentucky Board of Nursing.
- Must maintain any required licensure(s), certification(s), or other credentials for the length of employment in this job classification.
- Employing agency is responsible for ensuring employee possesses and maintains required licensure(s), certification(s) or other credentials.
