About The Position

The Robert E. Spiller Bowling Green Veterans Center is a 60-bed long-term care facility located in beautiful Bowling Green, Kentucky that is committed to serving Kentucky’s Veterans by fostering independence, preserving dignity and providing compassionate care. We are currently seeking a motivated Registered Nurse to work in our nursing department as a Charge Nurse. This position will serve in the role of Charge Nurse and supervise professional and ancillary employees in the administration of efficient nursing care. Applicants should have an active, unrestricted status as a Registered Nurse on the KBN licensure verification. Skill and expectations for this position include but are not limited to: Good communications and documentation skills Good work ethics Critical thinking and problem-solving skills Team leader Administer medications and treatments, as well as helping to meet the physical and psychosocial needs of our Veterans. The ideal candidate will work within a team-centered environment to meet our commitment to serving Kentucky’s Veterans by fostering independence, preserving dignity, and providing compassionate care. This agency is prohibited from hiring employees with convictions identified in 906 KAR 1:190. A fingerprint- supported national background check will be conducted prior to an offer of employment. This position would be considered evening shift (1500-2230 & every other weekend) This position, in Warren County has an approved Locality Premium of $10.62 in compliance with 101 KAR 2:034 Section 9(1). This job classification is approved for the following shift premiums, in compliance with 101 KAR 2:034 Section 9(2), which are applied to the base salary: Second & Third shift: 15% Weekend: 25% Holidays: 25%

Requirements

  • Active, unrestricted status as a Registered Nurse on the KBN licensure verification.
  • Good communications and documentation skills
  • Good work ethics
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Team leader
  • Must have two years of experience as a Registered Nurse.
  • Must be licensed in Kentucky as a registered nurse or possess a valid work permit issued by the Kentucky Board of Nursing.
  • Must maintain any required licensure(s), certification(s), or other credentials for the length of employment in this job classification.
