With a total of 40 private rooms, the 61,000-square-foot facility nearly doubles the patient capacity of the existing 24-bed inpatient rehabilitation unit at Northeast Georgia Medical Center (NGMC) Gainesville. The new facility features a designated wing for acquired brain injury and stroke patients, a large therapy suite with private rooms, and a variety of innovative rehabilitation equipment. Northeast Georgia Rehabilitation Institute provides intensive nursing, physical, occupational, and speech pathology services for adults recovering from conditions such as stroke, neurological disease, brain or spinal cord injury, and other debilitating illnesses or injuries.

Requirements

  • Current RN licensure in the state of Georgia
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in rehabilitation or acute care setting
  • Demonstrated leadership ability and strong clinical judgment
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
  • Basic computer proficiency required

Nice To Haves

  • ACLS preferred
  • Certified Rehabilitation Registered Nurse (CRRN) preferred
  • Applicants should have a current state RN license and possess a bachelor’s degree from an accredited nursing program (preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Provides clinical leadership and oversight of hospital operations during assigned shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Serves as the first line of support for nursing staff, physicians, and interdisciplinary teams
  • Ensures safe, effective patient care and adherence to nursing standards and rehabilitation philosophy
  • Coordinates patient admissions, staffing assignments, and unit workflow
  • Performs and supports accurate patient assessments, interventions, and documentation
  • Ensures completion and updates of interdisciplinary care plans
  • Monitors quality indicators (QIs) and supports performance improvement initiatives
  • Communicates and escalates clinical concerns or unusual occurrences appropriately
  • Supports staff education, development, and compliance with competencies and regulatory standards
  • Assists with staffing plans, scheduling, and management of nursing resources
