This position primarily involves analyzing Laboratory quality control and patient specimens, as well as performing quality assurance tasks related to the analytic phase of Laboratory workflow. The technician will operate, maintain, and troubleshoot Laboratory analyzers for "waived" and "moderate complexity" testing. Key duties include collecting blood specimens, interacting with diverse patients, and handling/processing various specimens for Laboratory testing. The role also requires completing computerized tasks for patient registration, test order entry, specimen collection, receiving, and processing. Basic post-analytic tasks such as distributing reports and storing/retrieving specimens are also part of the job. The technician will provide guidance to phlebotomists and lab assistants to ensure optimal workflow and rapid problem resolution, while adhering to all local, state, and federal regulations, codes, policies, and procedures to ensure privacy and safety in patient care.
