About The Position

We’re hiring a Certified Payroll Reporting Specialist to support payroll operations with a strong emphasis on prevailing wage compliance and certified payroll reporting for public works projects. This role is ideal for someone who is highly detail-oriented, thrives in compliance-heavy work, and takes ownership of tracking, reporting, and documentation across multiple payroll systems and jurisdictions. This role is located on-site in Rocklin, CA. This position supports payroll and compliance functions aligned to commercial and public works solar projects within MARS Energy Group.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 1–3 years of experience in payroll, accounting support, or compliance-related administrative roles
  • Hands-on experience with prevailing wage or certified payroll strongly preferred
  • Experience supporting construction, public works, or government contract payroll preferred
  • Exposure to certified payroll software such as LCPtracker, Dily, Dispatch, or similar platforms
  • Strong understanding of prevailing wage and certified payroll requirements, or the demonstrated ability to learn and apply complex compliance rules quickly
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in compliance-driven work
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Highly organized with strong documentation and recordkeeping practices
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment with sensitive payroll data
  • Comfortable working cross-functionally and following structured processes

Responsibilities

  • Support prevailing wage determinations, including job classifications, wage rates, and fringe benefit requirements
  • Prepare, review, and submit certified payroll reports for public works projects
  • Maintain and manage certified payroll platforms such as LCPtracker, Dily, or similar systems
  • Track prevailing wage hours, classifications, fringe benefits, and deductions
  • Reconcile discrepancies related to wage rates, classifications, or reporting errors
  • Maintain organized, audit-ready payroll and compliance records
  • Monitor compliance deadlines across multiple projects and jurisdictions
  • Partner with Payroll, HR, Operations, and Project teams to collect required data
  • Assist with payroll processing, data validation, and reporting support
  • Handle sensitive payroll information with discretion and professionalism
