About The Position

Sentara Medical Group is seeking to hire an individual to join our team as a Certified Medical Assistant. Offering a Sign-On Bonus up to 5K for Qualified Medical Assistants! Perform patient care and administrative/clerical related tasks and procedures based on training, education, and competency evaluations, and as delegated by and under the direction/supervision of the Physician, Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant (NP/PA), Registered Nurse (RN), or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent (Required)
  • Active CMA, CCMA, RMA, or NREMT-Basic (Required)
  • BLS is required within 90 days of hire.
  • 1 year of clinical or administrative experience

Nice To Haves

  • Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program (Preferred)
  • Phlebotomy experience (Preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Perform patient care related tasks and procedures based on training, education, and competency evaluations
  • Perform administrative/clerical related tasks and procedures based on training, education, and competency evaluations
  • Tasks as delegated by and under the direction/supervision of the Physician, Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant (NP/PA), Registered Nurse (RN), or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).
