This is a travel-based position Our client has a project to assist with site exit efforts. To start the engineering process, they need to conduct a thorough audit of the existing facilities. Duties will consist of conducting asset recovery and decommissioning of telecom hardware & equipment. Some of the work will involve lifts. The Telecom Technician – Central Office Decommissioning is responsible for the safe power-down, disconnection, cable mining, and removal of telecommunications equipment from live Central Office (CO) environments. This role requires strong DC power expertise, experience working in energized 48V environments, and the ability to follow engineered removal plans and carrier standards. The ideal candidate has experience in legacy telecom systems, including Nortel equipment, and understands proper decommissioning procedures to ensure network integrity and safety.
