About The Position

The Central Intake Manager complies with Central Intake processes and procedures and assists in developing new procedures within the department. This position oversees the Central Intake team's delivery of quality clinical decision-making skills. Provides training to all new staff members of the department and completes department orientation. Ensures all clinician and clerical duties are complete per shift. Monitors daily activity to ensure the department meets the goals and objectives of the organization through effective day to day management. Monitors Communication of patient referrals and communication with CLs and Administrators. Oversees all duties performed by Clinicians and Clerical staff according to Joint Commission, Federal and State Regulations and the Oceans' mission, policies and procedures and Performance Improvement standards.

Responsibilities

  • Monitors daily screening and assessments of prospects/referrals and determines if the individual meets Oceans Healthcare criteria.
  • Reviews daily reports via Wellsky from previous dates encounters to ensure all encounters have been properly closed out.
  • Make clinical decisions at a supervisory level based on years of experience and job performance.
  • Supervises clinicians and clerical staff members. Implements and executes corrective plans of action with employees when disciplinary actions are taken. Provides additional training and education when necessary. Assists with interviewing and onboarding new staff.
  • Performs functions as a CI Clinician when necessary.
  • Ensures staff enter all data into Wellsky, Teams and other documentation sources thoroughly and per policy.
  • Monitors team communication cycle identifying the time of the referral, where it originated and the timeliness of the most viable disposition meeting the patient's need based on their clinical presentation. Serves as the liaison between Central Intake and hospitals on a regular basis. Monitors Cortext communication and ensures timely responses with all facilities and vested participants.
  • Monitors communication with the hospitals regarding any changes or updates from the referral source in a timely manner for all referrals from Nursing Homes, Assisted Livings, Clinics, Group Homes, etc. does not include ED referrals.
  • Assists Director in conducting Monthly Department meetings to include all updated processes, policies, and department information. Communicates department changes and monitors staff compliance.
  • Assists Director in developing and implementing new policies and procedures as well as training all staff on new implementations.
  • Monitors Clinicians and Clerical staff performance as it relates to their required daily tasks/assignments.
  • Completes department monthly work schedule and responsible for providing appropriate coverage per shift pertaining to anticipated employee requests off.
  • Always ensures adequate staffing and covers shifts when necessary.
  • Alternates taking call for departmental situations with Director to ensure Supervisor is always available for questions or concerns.
  • Performs other duties and projects as assigned.
