About The Position

Overview Responsible for developing and evaluating expanded resident support efforts at the Carriage House East’s Resident Success Center. Responsibilities include program design and evaluation, resident engagement, facility and program operations, staff and volunteer training and supervision, marketing/community outreach and resource development.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nonprofit Management, Social Work/related filed or equivalent experience in community-based programs.
  • Knowledge of community based organizations and non-profits serving the Far Eastside and broader city of Indianapolis.
  • Demonstrated supervisory potential and ability to oversee and collaborate with staff.
  • Three or more years of applicable program development/management experience.
  • Solid, hands-on, budget management skills, including budget preparation, analysis, decision-making and reporting
  • Strong organizational abilities including planning, delegating, program development and task facilitation.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with computers, a working knowledge of the MS Office Suite of software, and the ability to use a broad range of job-related software including presentation applications.
  • Must have and maintain a valid Driver’s License in the state of residence.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate through listening, transmitting information accurately and effectively communicate verbally and in writing. Must be able to read and comprehend the English language.
  • Skills to collaborate with and motivate advisors, volunteers, and community organizations and stakeholders.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, including public speaking.

Nice To Haves

  • Fluent in Spanish is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Program Development and Evaluation
  • Ensure the Success Center is helping Carriage House East residents reach long-term goals through resident-centered and impact-oriented programming.
  • Continuously research and develop best practices for program design and management in support of Resident Success Center mission and goals.
  • Develop tools for ongoing program evaluation, ensure outcomes are measurable and continuously identify areas of growth/opportunity.
  • Work closely with the Resident Success Department to identify when additional resources or program modifications are needed to improve the overall effectiveness of the center.
  • Document program models that can be replicated at other properties.
  • Resident Engagement
  • Ensure a warm and welcoming environment for residents, visitors, and staff.
  • Work with the Success Center team to develop and promote both resident engagement opportunites and programs for residents.
  • Lead strategies, in collaboration with the staff, to engage resident leadership – this includes resident volunteer opportunities, ambassadorship and regularly seeking out resident input.
  • Develop and implement effective communication strategies to keep residents informed of training and service opportunities.
  • Identify and resolve obstacles to resident engagement.
  • Far Eastside Success Initiative (FESI) Support & Collaboration
  • Serve as a liaison between the Success Center’s staff and FESI advisors and cultivate working relationships in a manner that encourages a cooperative environment.
  • Responsible for the enhancement of image by being active and visible in the community and by working closely with other professional, civic and private organizations.
  • Maintain regular communication with the Resident Success Department.
  • Financial Performance and Sustainability:
  • Develop a financial model sufficient to ensure the financial health of the Resident Success Center.
  • Responsible for the fiscal integrity, to include submission of a proposed annual budget and operating within the approved budget, ensuring maximum resource utilization, and maintenance of the organization in a positive financial position.
  • Responsible for managing the Housing Foundation grant and provide reporting on program outcomes.
  • Organization Staffing/Operations:
  • Ensure a friendly, positive, resident/client-focused culture.
  • Oversee and implement appropriate processes and procedures to ensure that the operations of the Resident Success Center are appropriate and meet any local and federal requirements.
  • Responsible for the hiring, retention, and management of competent, qualified staff.
  • Develop systems and infrastructure; manage and maintain standards.
  • Develop, monitor, and evaluate program performance and outcomes.
  • Responsible for effective administration of operations and ensuring facility is maintained at a high level of cleanliness, safety, and order.
