About The Position

About LIFE Pittsburgh LIFE Pittsburgh, a growing nonprofit organization with approximately 400 employees, is a community-based alternative to nursing home care and assisted living. Through the LIFE Pittsburgh program, frail older adults can remain in their own home and receive a coordinated plan of care that enables them to maintain their independence and enjoy a safe and active life in the community. Our health teams of geriatric physicians and nurse practitioners, nurses, social workers, rehabilitation specialists and other health care professionals assess our Participants' needs and desires, plan and approve services with them and their family or caregiver, monitor for changes and provide timely interventions. Primary care and community services are provided through our Day Health Centers and through our in-home program according to an individual Participant's needs. Description Under the direction of the Center Supervisor, the Center Aide will assist Participants with personal care and social needs while attending our Adult Day Health Center. The Center Aide will assist Participants with personal care needs such as bathing, dressing, toileting, eating, mobility, van assistance and escorting participants throughout the center to locations as needed. Center Aide will also complete and document participant weights, completing in center and participant laundry, disinfecting surfaces and equipment, stocking supplies and escorting participants to outside appointments when needed. Will also assists the dietary department within the center with seating, serving, cutting, feeding, and clean-up of the dining areas as scheduled during dining times and snack / meal times while adhering to necessary diet specifications under the direction of the Registered Dietician. And will assists the activity department as needed.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum 1 year working with the geriatric population required

Responsibilities
