About The Position

Assists in the daily operation of recreational activities, including sports, crafts, and games; maintains facility cleanliness and order; provides information to the public about programs; handles cash transactions and prepares reports; and supports various recreational events and activities. Requirements

  • Any combination of training and experience which demonstrates the minimum knowledge and skills.
  • Qualifying education and experience must be clearly documented in the "Education" and "Work Experience" sections of the application.
  • Valid driver license is required at time of application.
  • Valid AZ driver license is required at time of appointment.
  • The successful applicant will be subject to a 39-month DOT Motor Vehicle Record review to determine applicant’s suitability to operate county vehicles in accordance with Pima County administrative procedures.
  • Failure to obtain/maintain the required licensure/certification shall be grounds for termination.
  • The County requires pre-employment background checks.
  • Successful candidates will receive a post-offer, pre-employment background screening to include verification of work history, education, and criminal conviction history.
  • A prior criminal conviction will not automatically disqualify a candidate from employment with the County.
  • Physical and sensory abilities will be determined by position.
  • Working conditions will be determined by the position.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in overseeing any one of several recreation activities, such as sports, dance, twirling, crafts and table games
  • Assists in operation of leagues, tournaments, meets, and the daily programmed activities
  • Interprets and explains game rules and referees and umpires ball games
  • Keeps recreation facility in a clean and orderly condition
  • Issues receipts
  • Prepares cash reports
  • Gives information to the public regarding recreation facilities and programs
  • Shows movies
  • Maintains projection equipment
  • Tells or reads stories to children
  • Maintains attendance and other records and prepares reports
