About The Position

The HMR CDL Bus Driver safely transports guests and staff from the North Base to the South Base and back again following all the rules of law as required by CA DMV, USDOT, FMCSA and CHP. This also includes the following duties

Requirements

• Have excellent communication, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high level of accuracy and courtesy.
• Experience driving up to 25 passenger buses requiring a minimum Class B with Passenger Endorsement
• Will provide a driver history print out from DMV prior to employment
• 25 years of age or older
• Literate and fluent in English.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence.
• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
• Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra, geometry, and trigonometry.
• Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, proportions, area, circumference, and volume to practical situations.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in oral, mathematical, or diagram form.
• Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
• Valid Class B Driver License with Passenger Endorsement and a driving record meeting the standards required by Homewood’s insurance carrier and FMCSA, DOT, CHP.
• Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) or 1-2 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in driving in snow, rain, and ice highly desirable
• Additional language(s) desirable.
• Prior ski resort transportation experience desirable.

• Responsible the safe transportation of all HMR guests and employees, as well all required recordkeeping, documentation, and vehicle inspections
• Keeps daily documentation and records in accordance to all Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, Department of Transportation and California Highway Patrol requirements.
• Communicates effectively with all departments including the Director of Base Operations via phone, text, email and verbally.
• Requisitions repairs to fleet as needed via Supervisor or Vehicle Maintenance
• Inspects buses on a daily basis prior to and at end of shift
• Follows schedules and creatively adjusts staffing to meet business demands.
