Zepf Center has been serving the Lucas County community for over 50 years. We are the leading provider of behavioral health and substance use disorder services in Northwest Ohio. Services include adult and child psychiatric, substance abuse, case management, residential, Crisis Care, and therapy programs, as well as career development and wellness services. Zepf Center also offers primary care medical services to our patients to contribute to their continuum of care. Zepf Center is a trauma-informed agency and environment for both patients and staff. Hours: Three, 12-hour weekly shifts; 7:00am - 7:00pm with one weekend a month General Summary: This position is responsible for providing support, reassurance, and counseling to patients in our substance use disorder (SUD) programs. Counselor Assistants are responsible for facilitating/leading group sessions, and initiating individual discussions, as well as patient supervision and observation. This individual must be alert, empathic, and attentive to meet the significant needs of the clients. Counselor Assistants also must be able to perform the OCDPB Twelve Core Functions and Competencies (including screening, intake, orientation, assessment, treatment planning, counseling, case management, crisis intervention, client education, referral, consultation, and reports/recordkeeping) under the supervision of a licensed independent chemical dependency counselor or other appropriately licensed individual. It is expected and essential for all employees to meet their regular work schedule. All employees within this department will be required to learn all aspects of their position even when tasks/responsibilities are divided among staff member and/or shifts.
