About The Position

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES Serve as the subject matter expert on aircraft egress systems, including ejection seats, canopy mechanisms, and explosive linkages. Conduct on-the-job training and maintenance oversight for contractor personnel performing seat/cockpit safety checkouts. Supervise and verify the safe handling, removal, and replacement of ejection seats and explosive devices. Perform quality assurance inspections in accordance with USN/USAF technical publications and applicable maintenance instruction manuals (MIMs). Ensure proper use and qualification of ground support equipment related to egress maintenance. Maintain detailed records of inspections, discrepancies, corrective actions, and training activities. Oversee rigging of explosive linkages/devices for ejection seats, canopies, canopy drives, and locking mechanisms. Enforce compliance with explosive safety protocols and ordnance handling procedures.

Requirements

  • Graduate of a military or factory-equivalent ejection seat course of instruction specific to their aircraft maintenance occupational field.
  • Certified and experienced in handling Cartridge Actuated Devices (CAD) and Propellant Actuated Devices (PAD).
  • Proficient in interpreting and applying USN/USAF technical publications and directives.
  • Qualified on ground support equipment applicable to egress systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct effective on-the-job training and technical mentorship.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in aircraft egress system maintenance and quality assurance, preferably on tactical platforms such as F-5 or F-18.
