About The Position

Catering Supervisor - Full Time - Washington, DC IST is a rapidly growing business process outsourcing (BPO) company and the largest American privately-owned facilities management company. Founded in 1997, the company is a two-time recipient of the Human Resources Professional Excellence Award granted by the Society for Human Resource Management. The Hospitality/Catering Coordinator is responsible for the execution of all internal events and conference services. The Catering Supervisor main responsibility is assist site supervisor, manage catering tasks, setting up and breaking down all events with the highest degree of professionalism and in accordance with high industry standards. Duties will also include ensuring that all meeting rooms are properly maintained and stocked. Hours: Monday through Friday Day Shift (with flexibility to work extended mornings or evenings to support events) Location: Washington, DC 20005 Benefits Include: Medical, Dental, Vision, STD, LTD, Life, Paid Time Off, and Bonus Incentives Compensation: While the compensation for this position is finally dependent upon the candidate’s experience/qualifications, the compensation for this position will be between $24 to $25 per hour. NOTE: As a requirement of this position, you must be a U.S citizen. Applicant must be able to meet client standards to fill position.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED); College Degree is preferred
  • 1-2 years experience in a high volume conference services facility or hospitality experience
  • Professional appearance and demeanor
  • Keyboarding and windows environment PC skills; Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • Ability to effectively work individually or in a team environment
  • Competency in performing multiple functional tasks; Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems
  • Capable of moving and lifting furniture and catering equipment up to 55 pounds
  • Willingness to cross-train for other job functions
  • Catering experience 4+ years
  • Supervisor experience 4+ years

Responsibilities

  • Catering Request Management
  • Monitor and manage the Request Management System for catering requests and email inbox to ensure timely response and coordination of all catering needs
  • Triage requests based on urgency, scale, and required coordination with events and facilities teams
  • Maintaining the Catering Trello board to ensure all details for each requests are up to date
  • Vendor Liaison and Coordination
  • Serve as the main point of contact with external catering vendors, ensuring clear communication of order details, delivery timelines, and set up requirements
  • Confirm accuracy of orders, dietary accommodations, and timing to ensure flawless execution
  • Manage vendor relationships to maintain service quality and explore improvements
  • Coordinate on-site catering delivery, to include receiving and verifying delivery contents
  • Managing food set-up and layout for professionalism and accessibility.
  • Overseeing post-event clean-up and waste management
  • Support internal events and meetings in collaboration with the Events & Facilities teams as needed
  • Team Collaboration
  • Assist managing and deligating tasks to the team
  • Work closely with Hospitality Coordinators to ensure seamless integration of catering with broader meeting and office needs
  • Support broader team needs during peak times, such as restocking or room set-up
  • Maintain clear lines of communication with OE team to include coordinating coverage for planned outages of either IST or OE teams
