About The Position

Capri Gelato & Coffee Bar is an award-winning Amalfi Coast inspired brand based in Los Angeles. From the Golden Globe Awards to Forbes, we cater events around the city with our specialty gelato and coffee catering packages. You will have the opportunity to work with a creative team, learn about (& taste!) our artisanal gelato and coffee, and work onsite some of the most exciting high-profile events. At Capri Gelato & Coffee Bar, we are devoted to producing the finest quality gelato and coffee inspired by the Amalfi Coast. Our gelato and sorbetto flavors are inspired by Capri’s “ garden to table” lifestyle, focusing on local fresh fruit and premium grade pistachios and hazelnuts imported from Italy. Our business is more than a traditional gelato and coffee bar, we have expanded to special events such as the 2019 and 2020 Golden Globe Awards, where we served gelato and coffee to the stars. We are a growing team that cares deeply about the community, leading to our partnerships with local farms for all of our fresh ingredients and creating a sustainable composting program. Our training program is centered around hospitality, to ensure every team member and customer feels welcomed and valued. Requirements

Available to work weekends and some weekday evening events or in the store front at Marina Del Rey or Hermosa Beach
Customer service skills
Comfortable in a client facing role
Punctuality, self-motivation, and the ability to work skillfully under pressure
Strong communication skills and a tenacious personality
High school diploma or GED required
Must have the ability to use personal vehicle for deliveries and offsite events
Must have a valid driver's license and current auto insurance
Ability to safely lift 50+ pounds

Nice To Haves

Background in customer service, hospitality, and food & beverage (preferred)

Responsibilities

Embody the Capri brand and values in all customer interactions
Stay informed about all company marketing and promotional activities
Work directly with Head of Marketing on social media projects (including taking photo and video content onsite at events, upon approval)
Assist Head of Marketing on event management and logistics
Drive to the shop to pick up all of the necessary catering materials and drive to the site location for setup
Set up the catering station at the event and arrange table(s) and decoration(s)
Serve guests and interact with clients in a hospitable manner
Keep the area tidy and presentable at all times
Be knowledgeable of all menu items, allergens and preparation methods
Be our eyes and ears on the ground, relaying information to and from clients and vendors to our Event Manager to help optimize the client meal experience
Thoroughly clean the catering station after the event has concluded
Return all catering items and equipment utensils to the shop after the event
Follow safety and sanitation policy and procedures at all times
Maintain a clean and well-groomed personal appearance in accordance with Capri’s Personal Appearance and Attire Standards Policy
