About The Position

The Sales Manager drives group and corporate/transient revenue by prospecting, qualifying, and closing business. You’ll own a book of accounts, respond to RFPs, conduct site visits, craft proposals/contracts, and partner with Revenue and Events to deliver profitable, on-brand programs and repeat business.

Requirements

  • 2–5+ years hotel or venue sales experience with proven production (group and/or corporate/transient).
  • Strong consultative selling, presentation, and negotiation skills; polished planner/client communications.
  • Proficient with CRM and sales platforms (e.g., Delphi/Cvent/Salesforce) and Microsoft 365/Google Workspace; solid Excel/Sheets skills.
  • Organized, deadline-driven, and metrics-minded; excellent writing and follow-through.
  • Ability to travel locally/regionally; flexible schedule for client events and need periods.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business/Hospitality preferred or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

  • Pipeline & Prospecting: Source new business through outbound calls/emails, networking, tradeshows, CVB/brand leads, and local partnerships; log activities in the CRM.
  • Sales Cycle Ownership: Qualify opportunities, lead site tours/presentations, create proposals, and negotiate contracts that protect rate integrity and margins.
  • Account Management: Grow share from assigned accounts via rebooks, multi-year agreements, and cross-sell of catering/outlets/ancillaries; maintain regular business reviews.
  • RFP/Distribution: Manage RFPs (corporate/GDS/consortia/Cvent) to SLA standards; ensure accurate rate loading and parity with Revenue/Reservations.
  • Forecasting & Reporting: Maintain accurate pace, pickup, and production forecasts; prepare weekly reports and need-period action plans.
  • Collaboration: Hand off clean BEOs and resumes; participate in pre-/post-cons; align with Marketing on campaigns/collateral and with Revenue on pricing, ceilings, and displacement.
  • Compliance & Data Hygiene: Uphold contracting, deposits/credit, and brand/company policies; keep CRM data (contacts, activities, files) complete and current.
  • Market Presence: Represent the property at client events and industry functions; host FAMs and planners professionally.
