Placed right in the heart of the action the New York Hilton Midtown is looking for its next Catering Sales Manager! This hotel offers 1,878 elegantly appointed guestrooms and an impressive 150,000 square feet of versatile event space. With 49 meeting rooms, including the largest ballroom spanning 21,673 square feet, it’s an ideal destination for conferences, conventions, and upscale gatherings in the heart of Manhattan. Our ideal candidate will have at least two years of experience in hotel housekeeping and be familiar with working in a unionized environment. Strong multitasking skills are essential, along with the ability to lead, train, and manage teams effectively. Shift Pattern: The role operates within business hours Monday – Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm with required full availability to adjust work hours and work any day of the week, including weekends and holidays for client engagement. Salary Range: This is a salaried position starting at $100,000.00 annually and will be aligned with the candidate’s experience and qualifications. What will I be doing: As a Catering Sales Manager, you will be responsible for developing market segment(s), including soliciting new customer relationships, negotiating business through proposals and contracts to close deals, and creating menus and events to maximize revenue and enhance the event experience. Maintain existing relationships with corporate and social accounts. Fostering all internal customer relationships to ensure consistent, high-level service throughout the contracting, pre-event, event, and post-event phases of events. This position primarily handles complex social events. Directs event logistics to affected departments and team members responsible for event execution. Serve as the primary contact and is responsible for his/her experience. Specifically, your essential functions will be to perform the following tasks to the highest standards:

Responsibilities

  • Selling and influencing both internal and external clients.
  • Participate in customer site inspections and assist with the sales process as necessary.
  • Timely communication to internal and external clients via telephone, email, written documents or in person.
  • Create and maintain relationships with clients to set and meet client expectations and deliver on those expectations.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of job systems, products, booking systems, and processes.
  • Resolve conflicts and negotiate with others while handling complaints, settling disputes, and resolving grievances and conflicts.
  • Make decisions and solve problems by analyzing and evaluating the issues and determining the best solution.
  • Ensure high-quality service by communicating and assisting others to understand the guest’s needs, providing direction and guidance, feedback and individual coaching when needed.
  • Other duties as necessary are based on business needs.
  • Regular attendance.
