Job Summary The Catering Sales Director is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the catering department within the hotel, ensuring exceptional service for events and functions. This role involves strategic planning, financial management, and team leadership to create memorable experiences for guests while maximizing revenue for the hotel. opportunities with significant revenue potential.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in hospitality management, business administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in catering, event planning, or food and beverage management, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong organizational, multitasking, and Selling skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on customer service.
  • Proficient in budgeting and financial management and Catering selling skills.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and move around the event space for extended periods.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required by event schedules.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate all Catering events, conferences, meetings, group functions, weddings and group activities booked through the sales department.
  • Negotiate food and beverage prices, function space, and hotel services within approved departmental booking guidelines.
  • Confirm in writing to the client and all affected hotel departments all group requirements via sales contract terms, addendums, confirmation of pricing, group resumes, and/or banquet event order.
  • Actively up-sells each business opportunity to maximize revenue goals.
  • As needed, assist the client in menu planning, food and beverage coordination, table arrangements, decorations, traffic flow, room set-up, group room blocks and VIP services, etc.
  • Conduct Pre-convention meeting with client and operations team.
  • Work with sales and food & beverage team to service and solicit new business.
  • Up-sell client events and manage function space and room block inventory as assigned.
  • Identifies, and solicits new group /catering business to achieve hotel revenue goals.
  • Maximizes catering revenue by upselling packages and creative food & beverage.
  • Prepare and distribute amenity request forms for specified clients.
  • Obtain designated approvals and follow-up on delivery.
  • Check Uses effective negotiating skills and creative selling abilities to close on business and negotiate new catering business.
  • Welcome group contact upon arrival at function and ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Monitor and ensure all functions are set up, refreshed, and broken down in compliance with scheduled times and departmental procedures.
  • Work in a timely manner to executive and distribute all Banquet Event Orders (BEO) and contracts as designated by sales.
  • Conduct hotel and banquet facility tours and entertain qualified clients in accordance with company and property policies.
  • Follow up with clients regularly during and after departure to ensure satisfaction and secure future bookings.
  • Builds and strengthens relationships with existing and new customers to enable future catering bookings.
  • Regular sales calls, entertainment is key part of this job.
